“the 3rd
International Marble Sculpture Symposium”
Caransebes-Romania 2012
The International Marble Sculpture Symposium, organized by Caransebes Municipality, will take place for the third time.
.Deadline : 15.03.2012
ARTICLE 1:
“the 3rd International Marble Sculpture Symposium” will take place in Caransebes-Jud Caras-Severin between:
June The 18th and July the 18th 2012
ARTICLE 2:
A jury appointed by Carasebes Municipality with two guest jury members from United Artists Association of Romania will choose the participating artists until . the 15th of March 2012
ARTICLE 3:
A total of 10artists will be participating in the symposium.
ARTICLE 4:
The material to be used is white “Ruschitza Marble”
ARTICLE 5:
The Carasebes Municipality will provide each artist with a maximum of 3 cubic meter block/ blocks of marble in total, sized and preformed according to the artists’ orders as dimensional specifications. The organizers will provide power and air compressor, angle grinders (9').Artists will take their own tools.
ARTICLE 6:
The theme of the symposium is free.
ARTICLE 7:
The sculptures produced by the artists in the symposium will be the propriety of Caransebes city and placed in the Sculptures Park of the city of Caransebes.
ARTICLE 8:
The accommodation (motel, double rooms) and food will be provided by the Municipality and sponsors. Accompaniments can come on their own expenses.
ARTICLE 9:
Travel expenses for all artists will be covered as follows: 200 Euros for each foreign artist from Europe (included Russia&Turkey), 500 euro from other countries and local transportation for Romanian artists.
ARTICLE 10:
Each artist who has completed his work will be given a total of 1000 Euros. The half of the total amount will be paid in the second week of the symposium; the remainder will be given after the symposium is completed, along with the certificate of participation
ARTICLE 11:
.The Caransebes Municipality will provide with air compressor,and a 9' grinder.
ARTICLE 12:
The working area will be outdoors, close to the motel.
ARTICLE 13-
The artists are obligated to remain in the symposium work area during the symposium working hours.
ARTICLE 14:
It's suggested the participants bring visual material of their works to share with the artists and small sculptures, drawings for an exhibition in the Gallery Caransebes.
ARTICLE 15:
Artists are responsible for taking out their own accident insurances.
ARTICLE 16:

ARTICLE 17:
Caransebes Municipality and The Symposium Committee have the right of taking decision in the case of “the incomplete of art works within the symposium period”. In case of conflict, Caransebes Courts are authorized.
ARTICLE 18:
The artists selected by the jury to participate in the symposium are supposed to inform their travel schedule.
ARTICLE 19:
The participating artists are regarded as they accepted the symposium specifications and calendar.
ARTICLE 20:
In tow of the week ends trips will be organized in selected locations of Romania.

- The sketches, model or photographs
of model of the proposed artwork for the symposium, showing
different angles the dimensions for the block or blocks for stone to
be used not exceeding 3A cubic meter in total.
- The Symposium Committee must be
informed about Mounting sketch, short explanation of the quantity
and type of additional material to be used in the proposed artwork.
- Artist’s CV with an artist’s
photo.
- 5 photographs from recent works
in other symposiums.
